There was so much more here of interest than just the very pleasing rhythm and rhyme of children's poetry; I was pleasantly surprised at the wit and wordplay that normally isn't found to such an extent in children's poetry. I was laughing out loud at points. A very enjoyable read. ( )

This fun book of rhymes follow a boy and his dog on a graveyard adventure. It tells stories of each dead person and why they died and what they did in their life.

It’s a very fun book but maybe a little too gross and scary for pre-second graders. The illustrations are funny and well done and enhance the understanding of the simple story-rhymes. It reminded me of a slightly less sinister Edward Gorey. ( )
