Series of short Scarlet Pimpernel stories, all predictable (except for the details) The best stories are the ones in which Sir Percy is captured by Chauvelin and the last, in which one of Sir Percy's lieutenants jumps the rails and the SP is forced to use his treachery as part of the plot. Good, if unspectacular, fun. ( ) I'm not sure that the short story format suits Orczy well. In far too many of these stories, she seems to go straight for old, familiar plans on the parts of both Percy and (when he appears) Chauvelin, and due to their being short stories, she wraps them up quickly without adding significant new twists. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

The Scarlet Pimpernel takes numerous and dangerous trips to help rescue unfortunate and innocent people from the dreaded guillotine, whilst hiding behind the facade of the 'brainless fop', Sir Percy Blakeney. This collection of short stories about the exploits of the Pimpernel is wonderfully entertaining, and transports the reader back to the French Revolution where clever disguises and narrow escapes abound!
