As always Tracie Peterson delivers a wonderful book. It's filled with memorable characters and a great storyline.
In the first book, Amelia travels with her family to Amercia. She has not believed in God since her mother passed away. She meets their guide, Logan, who had it with spoiled English "royalty". He has a firm belief in God and he helps Amelia find her faith. They soon fall in love and marry.
Darlene works in her father's tailor shop. She has caught the eye of socialite, Pierce. Not only are they not equal in status, Darlene is a Jew and Pierce is a Christian. Darlene's father soon embraces the Christian faith and Darlene becomes confused about her own faith. Pierce wants to leave NYC and possibly move to Chicago. He's in love with Darlene but he knows what scripture says about being unequally yoked. Darlene's father becomes very sick and he witnesses to Darlene. She accepts Jesus as Lord and can't wait to tell her friends and Pierce. Unfortunately, her father dies and there's a horrible fire. Darlene loses everything in one night. Pierce opens up his home to her and she tells him of her decision to follow Christ. He is ecstatic and they decide to marry and move to Chicago.
