( ) Plot snapshot: Claire is getting married to Chris. But just before they cue the organist, his brother Dylan comes to tell her Chris has done a runner. Bad enough to be humiliated in front of 500 snooty rich people but to have to hear it from Dylan? Worse. The only thing they have ever agreed on is their mutual dislike. Before she nows it, Dylan whisks her away to his place in an Fransisco to escape the whispers & faux sympathy. He knows she needs a place to lick her wounds & offers her a room in the beautiful condo he shares with Aidan. Did I mention the boys are really hot? And a bit more than roomies? I enjoy a good historical mystery or police procedural but in between, sometimes I want to read a light, entertaining romance where no one is murdered, nothing blows up & nobody is turned into a vampire. But as with all genres, there still has to be a smart, viable plot, well written characters & sharp dialogue with a sense of humour. This book has all that & more. What follows is the story of our fearless threesome as they slowly become more than friends with benefits. It's not just about how they deal with an unconventional relationship but also how other people react when confronted by a loved one's lifestyle choice that they may have preconceived notions about. Not everyone will come around. There's a large number of peripheral characters, mostly friends, that provide side stories & humorous situations. At the end of the day, it's not just about sex, although I have to say it's smokin'. It's also about treating each other well & accepting someone for the person they are, no matter how they choose to live. Not a bad message to put out there. I really enjoy a ménage where the love is an equal opportunity relationship. I've tried her previous books and been a little meh, as the opportunity to explore a committed polyamourous relationship was there but it always remained on the central two characters. Great story and realistic tension, romance and stuff they all need to work through. Full of hot, sexy and funny men and the heroine takes no crap from anyone. I loved the banter between the guys. Made me laugh out loud several times. Favourite quotes:

A sexy standalone novel from New York Times and international bestselling author Elle Kennedy! Three is most definitely not a crowd... Claire McKinley has just experienced every bride's nightmare: the groom is a no-show, and now she must face five hundred guests alone. Furious and humiliated, she seeks help from the most unlikely candidate-her almost-brother-in-law, who promptly whisks her away to his apartment in San Diego, where she can recover her pride in peace and quiet. Dylan Wade is no fan of Claire's, but he can't ignore the jilted bride in her time of need. Bringing her home seems like a good idea-until he remembers his new roommate. Dylan's relationship with Aidan Rhodes is...complicated. And with Claire thrown into the mix, life becomes even more...complicated. Claire is blindsided by her attraction not only to Dylan, but also to Aidan, a man she's just met. Soon they're caught up in an all-consuming sexual storm they can't fight even if they wanted to. But when their hearts get involved, Claire wonders if it can last, or if she's just setting herself up for more heartache. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
