This is based on the idea that computer programming and magic can be connected, and that the programming in our real world could be somehow similar or enhancing of the world of magic. That's an interesting idea in that it creates a connection between otherwise dissimilar worlds and considers this connection from a cultural view. Beliefs about the magic life system interfered with teaching the programming type of magic, which has different assumptions about the nature of the world. This book read like an action novel, with less than complete characterization. It was interesting enough for its purpose but is perhaps better appreciated by those with greater interest in this genre. The characterization issue would have been less important if I had read this in the proper order in the series! ( ) Of the three books in the Wiz Biz franchise so far, I think I'd have to rate this one as #2. I like the fact that we had competent and dangerous foes, although I felt like they really just squandered their chances by falling in love with the hardware. The dwarves were absolutely hilarious. I actually laughed out loud on two different occasions during dwarvish attempts to assassinate the Wiz. I'm also a sucker for prophesy that gets fulfilled. Read 8/2007 sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
