A father promises his son that they will see a deer that summer. They walk over dunes, through marshes, and then head for the fields. The boy and his father see all kinds of animals such as pheasants, egrets, blackbirds and rabbits. Finally, after a rainstorm, they see a doe and her two fawns. This is a magical moment for the boy, who knows that he will hold on to this memory forever.
