This book told the story of Odysseus and his journey traveling home to Ithaca from the Battle of Troy. His journey takes him through many obstacles. The many hardships that he endured on his journey caused him to arrive home after 20 years. Upon his arrival, he finds his wife overcome with suitors. Odysseus and his son attack and kill the suitors so Odysseus can once again be with his wife.

This is a good alternative for students to read instead of the original version of The Odyssey. This version is much easier to understand and is extremely helpful with the illustrations.

A good extension after reading this graphic novel is to have students get into groups and have each group find out extra information on the mythical figures mentioned in the book and have them present their findings to the class. Also, you can have the students act out different scenes in The Odyssey.
