This middle school book talks about Rafe's sisters first year in middle school and how it all goes downhill for her. Teachers think she will be just as bad as her brother . But she ends up being a little bit worse than her brother. ( )

this book was a new one for me because it is telling the story of the other sibling and not rafe ( )

Told by Rafe's sister, this book takes place after the previous, as opposed to coinciding with either of the previous. Despite being her brother's opposite, Georgia slowly unveils her own issues and secrets - is middle school kind to anyone? We also get to see the love of Rafe's life through a different perspective that makes the reader realize Rafe might not be the most reliable of narrators. ( )

Georgia (Rafe's sister) starts her first year of middle school, but things don't go as well as planned because of Rafe's history of bad grades, pranks, and vandalism. Her teaches lower her grades and give her detention for no apparent reason. To make things worse , Missy and Miller bully her, she joined a band which her brother entered in the school dance performance as "we stink." , and she bottles it all up and keeps it a secret from her mom.In the end "we stink" did pretty well, her mom helps Gergia's troubles at school, and maybe her brother isn't that bad.

I think this story was okay. The things I liked about it was that it was nice to see things in the book from another perspective and that the script was still original. What I didn't like was the fact for the entire book up until the last 3-5 chapters was that Georgia was everyone's punching bag. I know that is reality but it's not something enjoyable to read. For the author I suggest to be a little less abusive to the main character. Another thing I didn't like was that Rafe was just straight up evil. In conclusion this book has a big impact on my emotions but not always in the best way. ( )

I read this book with my son and he loved it. The book is written like a comic book with many captions and illustrations that keep children entertained. The story itself was also easily relatable as many children with a sibling can understand the constant rivalry and fighting siblings often encounter.
In this series, readers hear Georgia Khatchadorian's side of the story, as opposed to hearing Rafe's. This shows readers how the point of view can greatly affect a story. If it had been told from Rafe's point of view, it would have been much different.
As Georgia faces the difficulties of middle school, she often blames her brother for her bad reputation. Since he had been such a bad kid, teachers automatically assumed Georgia would cause just as much trouble.
In the end, the book takes a surprising twist as Georgia and Rafe call a "cease fire" and stop fighting with one another. At that moment, they realize how much they care about one another. Then, they were back at it the next morning.
Although the sibling rivalry is ongoing, this book shows readers that through that love-hate relationship siblings often times experience, there is an unbreakable bond that keeps you together. This is something that I, myself, can easily relate to as I also had an older brother who I fought with every day throughout my childhood. Still, I loved my brother very much and knew that I would always have a friend in him. ( )

It isn't easy having a brother who's famous in all the wrong ways. It also isn't easy having a brother who's a blabbermouth.
