"This is the finale that fans have been waiting for. In Taking Even, the game began. In Hunting Eve, the chase was on. Now, in Silencing Eve, the prey is cornered. Will Eve Duncan survive? Will those she loves take the fall with her? And will the secrets of Eve's past ultimately become her undoing? In Silencing Eve, all the questions will be answered in a shocking, you never saw it coming conclusion. Iris Johansen's 2012 trilogy, Eve, Quinn, Bonnie was a phenomenal success, reaching number one on bestseller lists nationwide. I have read and enjoyed every one of the Eve Duncan series. I did find a blooper in this book. In Hunting Eve Zander broke his LEFT wrist and had a cast put on it. When the story line continued in Silencing Eve Zander suddenly had the cast on his RIGHT wrist instead. I probably wouldn't have noticed the discrepancy if I hadn't read the two books back-to-back. I am a fan of Eve. She is both smart and tough. The rest of the gang is great too. Yet this time I was not really feeling the vibe with this book. I was only semi interested in the events taking place in the story. There seemed to be a lot of mopping around. In addition, I found the high intensity action lacking until the last third of the book and no strong leader. There was a lot of times throughout this book that I found myself just going through the motions of reading but nothing was really sinking into my head. Which I really did not care if it did or not. There was not much of importance that I was missing. Plus, if you have read these books then you know how the story would end. So no surprise there. In fact, I was so disinterested that I did not even get emotional when one of the characters passed away. However I still enjoy this author and her books. ( )

End of the trilogy. Eve lives, but there is one character who dies. Jane ends up talking with Bonnie. Wonder where she'll take this world to next? ( )

“Silencing Eve” by Iris Johansen

It’s a rush to the end. It’s a thrilling ride. It’s the breathtaking, at times heartbreaking, continuation of the Eve Duncan series. I’ve loved every book I’ve read by Johansen, but “Silencing Eve” outshines them all.
Taken by Doane—an evil man and Kevin’s father, who Eve’s father Zander killed—Eve is made to recreate Kevin’s skull so that Doane can have his revenge. He wants Eve to die under the watchful, guilt-ridden eyes of Zander. Sort of a tit for tat thing. But that’s not all. Kevin was more evil than Doane could ever be and Doane wants to finish what Kevin put into motion before his death and kill thousands of innocent people.
Eve is unable to do much but subconsciously reach out to those around her. As readers, we watch while Eve’s family and friends run from Chicago to Seattle to try and stop the detonation of events that will lead to a horrific number of deaths—and try to save Eve at the same time. But they get a little help from a source that some of them are having a hard time believing even exists.
Even if you’ve not read Johansen’s other books, I implore you to pick this one up. Johansen is a master at weaving suspense and making you sit on the edge of your seat, literally picking apart the seams of the chair while urging everyone to hurry. Because there’s not much time left…for Eve or thousands of others.
Definitely 10 out of 10 stars all the way.
