This is another book I wasn't able to review many years ago because it wouldn't format to my Kindle, but when I tried again this week, it worked, and am I ever glad it did! I absolutely love the One-Skein Wonder series of books and own at least 3 of them, and after reading this one, I'm adding it to the list. The books always include so many gorgeous patterns, and at only one skein each, you can afford to buy the good stuff! The pictures included with each pattern are gorgeous and make the book that much nicer.

In summary, I'm in love with this book and give it a very enthusiastic 5/5 stars.

I received a copy of this book free of charge in exchange for my honest opinion. ( )

First of all - I am a BIG fan of lace, and when I'm not knitting ribbing or garter stitch, I'm probably knitting lace. And being an avid yard saler who ends up with nothing but odd skeins in my stash, you know I'm all about the one skein projects! So yes, I freely admit, this book was published just for ME! (oh, you mean I'm not the only one?)

The sections are:

hats and caps
mittens, gloves and cuffs
socks (of course!)
knits for kids
it's a wrap - scarves, shawls, and the like
lacey accessories
items for the home
And of course, a variety of weights of yarn in each section and different construction methods.

Now, some people, when they think of lace, think of gossamer, see through, open, airy, and hard... most of the projects aren't that at all, but simply modern designs that happen to have a lot of holes in them, you know, holes you put in your project on purpose. Designs are charted, and though some have a large number of rows / rounds in them, alot of projects are easily memorizable. There's some matching sets in the book, too, which I always like.

There are some incredibly cute baby knits in here - the baby accessories are cute, but what really stands out are the adorable sweaters and cardigans for babies that makes me wish I had a baby to knit for right now. Hana and Haru are my favorites.

And I don't knit baby things! ever! (OK: I do crochet baby blankets)

There's even a cute American Girl Doll set.

I received a review copy from netgalley ( )

This book was given to me as a gift, and I just love it. I spin a lot of my own yarn and will enjoy using my handspun for several of the projects in this book. I don't want to knit complicated lace patterns, so the choices in the book are perfect for me. ( )

I find this book practical yet inspiring!! It is practical because there are all sorts of techniques shown in the back (thank you for including using 2 circular needles and the magic loop methods) as well as tips all through the book. The instructions are clear and include both charts and written instructions for most patterns.
The inspiration comes in the variety and various levels of the designs. There are many choices at many levels and the patterns are written to take out the mistique of making lace. I look forward to starting a pattern but it will be hard to choose one! The Lacy Pig Buddy will be fun and the shawls, hats, scarves and mittens will be great for my charity knitting/crocheting while adding some class the gifts. I can hardly wait to get stated!! ( )
