I am not sure how to classify this book. It is not a mystery that is for sure. It never really goes anywhere and the few times I was "surprised"by something it tended to feel more of a letdown. The writing is fine, it's just that the story really wasn't that interesting. (

This is an Ok read in the sense that it gets you to turn the pages. My main gripe with it is that there is some cheating involved. Key elements of plot are withheld and the author pulls the wool over our eyes. This worked as a plotting device but it is still a cheap trick in my opinion.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for a review.

I sat down in my reading room last night after finishing a book thinking I would start this one and then pick it up again later. The next thing I knew, I had finished the book. I don't want to say anything much about what kept me going because I don't want to give anything away. I will say I enjoyed this book and I would a) recommend it and b) read more from this author in the future. (

Author Tina Seskis did a great job of holding my interest all the way through, and much of this is due to the phenomenal narration by Elizabeth Knoweldon and to a lesser extent, Paul Fox, in the audiobook. The "big reveal" at the end, falls flat, however, although it does explain why Emily ran away from her marriage to start a new identity and a new life. Seskis does a disservice to Emily's family members, especially her twin Caroline; hurriedly wrapping up their stories as if she's out of time, insight and paper! In fact, the whole ending has that feeling of wanting to be done with this. Too bad, because I liked this story. Not sure I would recommend it, though, for that reason. (

A gripping thriller that will delight fans of the unexpected twist ending
