Still fighting for her realtor position, feuding with Ray, hot for Doc, and finding ghosts and demons about in Deadwood all while trying to raise her twins. Unlike Evanovich, Ann Charles is actually moving relationships and the story along, which I appreciate. Unfortunately there is no #5 - HURRY UP, Ann :) So far my least favorite of the series. The pace seemed a little slower, and the novelty has worn off the series. This one seemed a little too formulaic for my taste. Her banter with the police detective has gone from playful to annoying, and her failure to fully commit to Doc is getting tiring. There is a reappearance of the Albinos and we learn a bit more about them, so that is good. Hopefully the next one will be more exciting. Another chapter in Deadwood. More quirky characters show their faces and paranormal events keep happening. Detective Cooper is busting Violet's chops to tell him all, then says he doesn't believe her. When he crosses the line and tells her she can't take care of herself, she quits talking. I enjoyed this funny, mystery, romance and am rooting for Violet! sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

With a cast of zany characters, Ms Charles weaves a story that perfectly plays off the previous book's plot.
Violet spends the book trying to avoid riling Detective Cooper and stay out of jail, track down a client to complete a real estate sale, raise her twins, reconcile with her best friend and further a relationship with Doc. Violet is a busy, busy modern woman.
Loveable characters from previous books help propel the storylines forward - Everyone needs an "Old Man Harvey" in their life- and the reader gets more of the backstory regarding Violet's sister and family dynamic as well as her Aunt Zoe's love life.
A terrific installment of the Deadwood series.
