Her dad has the cows and horses, her brother has a dog. But Nora has no friends of her own. Then one day her father brings home chicks "for eating". Nora has other plans. I loved this story. And the illustrations are wonderful, too. Nora and her family moved to the United States from Russia. Nora's mother tried her best to make their new home feel a little bit like Russia but Nora was still home sick. She was lonely and wanted someone to talk to- she wanted something of her own. Her father gives her chicks and geese to tend to. Nora and the chicks go everywhere together. But when one goes missing, Nora is happy that her neighbor, Susannah, finds the missing chick. The two girls create a bond. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

This isn't indepth, but it is a cute story. ( )
