I have been finding "North Star of Herschel Island" to be an amazing book very well written and full of interesting anecdotal stories about the people involved with the Tall Ship and the arctic fur trade during the start of the last century. R. Bruce Macdonald has gathered together a lot of facts and photos, as well as hearing many of the stories directly from the Inuit from the Herschel Island area to compile the important history of Canada's last Arctic tall ship. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in tall ships, the Arctic and the life of the Inuit and the fur trappers of the last century. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Former Prime Minister of Canada Jean Chretien says, "this is an important book that every Canadian should read," and Canadian author Farley Mowat writes this is "one hellluva book about one helluva ship - and a good account of the Bankslanders as well."
