This book is about a 6th grade boy named Spencer who has trouble fitting into school. He is getting bullied because of an incident with his asthma tube. He is also trying to keep his calm after realizing that there were people in the ceiling and no one else knows it. Spencer soon realizes that the Headhunters are trying to protect him from his bullies. The Headhunters have weapons made out of school supplies. They’re really stealthy as well. Spencer is also having troubles with his relationship with his mom. He keeps sneaking out of school to go hang out with the Headhunters. Later, their friendship ends after discovering that one of the teachers was a Headhunter all along. The story ends with a game between Spencer and the Headhunters and guess who wins? Figure it out. ( ) Spencer Pendleton has attended several schools, none of which he has liked, and he doesn't expect Greenfield Middle School will be any different. But Spencer hasn't met the Tribe yet, a secret group of runaway students who hide out in the school ceiling. The Tribe live off of cafeteria food and create weapons made out of everyday school supplies. No one seems to know the Tribe exists, except for Spencer when he discovers them during an asthma attack. When the Tribe invites Spencer to join the secret group, all he has to do is pass the initiation and leave his troublesome life behind. Can Spencer pass the orientation? Better yet, what will happen if Spencer says no to the Tribe? The Tribe will forever stay in the school and haunt Spencer. Spencer, bored with school at Greenfield Middle and looking for another adventure, eventually decides to join the Tribe and be a part of their secret group. Spencer passes initiation by showing them his loyalty by keeping the Tribe a secret, makes a weapon from school supplies and successfully pranks his teacher. His plan goes bad when Spencerś mom notices he is missing and calls the police to look for him. The police discover the Tribe and they are now all forced out of the school and are never to return back to Greenfield Middle School again. I think that that the Tribe should get the John Newbery award. This book is very interesting because many average kids can connect with the difficulties of school that Spencerś character experiences. The book uses the imagination of a bored child in school that is dreaming of having a fun adventure and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good read. The Tribe is a book about a boy named spencer pendleton. He first moved to a new home and has a new school called Greenfield middle school. First Spencer meets a kid named Riely Calahand. He is the bully of the school. Later on spencer sees some people inside the celling. Later the people have intraduce them selves to spincer. Near the end spencer has been sneaking to the school to meet the people they call themselves the tribe.Afterwards spencer learns the janator of the school is part of the tribe.Lastly the gril of the tribe named sully who spincer liked, he discoved that she liked him as well. I thought the book was preety interesting. With the mysterous people in the cealing. When spincer would get into trouble. I enjoyed how all the kids in the tribe had an intersting backstory to their life at school. I also liked the plot twist when the janator mr simms was the first tribal member. Probaly the thing that got me into the book was the first sencence was " I didn't burn down my old school. on purpose." So I thought it was an intersting book so mabey you can read it your self if you wanted. With this first book in the Tribe series, Chapman takes a lighthearted approach on a serious subject. Spencer is an intelligent, precocious kid struggling to fit in at his new school. He deals with bullies, teachers who don't quite understand him, his parents' break up, and the occasional full-blown asthma attack. His antics are humorous, but there are also moments of emotional depth that beautifully capture the turmoil of youth. Chapman does an incredible job of getting inside Spencer's character. I felt like this boy was telling me his story, and I was going along on the journey with him. This is the perfect book for any parents who wants to reconnect with their inner child and better understand their own children's feelings. It's also the ideal story for all school-aged children. Spencer and his adventures will make kids want to pick up the book and read. I'd love to see this made into a movie or TV series. Spencer deserves the spotlight! sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
