Reading this series at 14; Climbling isn't really for me but it sounds exciting and these kids are so cool and talented! The descriptions are great and I love learning about Everest. So funny, interesting, and intense!

Reading this series at 27; All my thoughts from when I first read these books still apply, but also, who let these babies climb a freakin mountain of death??!! I love the characters and story, and I really apprecite that the books take the dangers of mountaineering seriously without being overly graphic about it. ( )

About what I'd expect from Gordon Korman (it's not my first time reading him and his formula doesn't change that much).
Good characters.
Interesting story.
Incredibly unbelievable though - there is nothing in this book that would make me remotely believe that this would happen and that's a problem in a book like this because you just never feel like anything bad would happen (it does) because it's so unrealistic.

It was a fun hour out of my life but not much more (glad I got this out of the library instead of paying money for it) ( )

RGG: Exciting, "cliff hanger" about adolescents trying to make the team to climb Mt. Everest. Some of the characters could be sketched out better, but readers will be anxious to read the entire series. Reading Level: 10-14.

A good Young Adult for the young adventurer in your life. A contest...a win...a dream come true. Who will be the next youngest person to climb Everest? I'm off to read the next one in the series! Know any young adventurous types who might like a cool story to read? ( )
