Not entirely sure what I was expecting but this ended up being different from what I thought it would be. There were some really good points in this book and I was drawn into it in the beginning but somewhere along the way I kind of lost interest. I guess I thought this would have more practical applications of how to use the word of God in our everyday lives but that's not what I got with this one. It probably could have also benefited from some more editing; some parts did not need to be as long as they were to get their point across. Overall it's still a good book, though maybe not the best on this topic. ( ) Worldwide, women are the targets of prejudice, sex trafficking, abuse, and gendercide. A spiritual enemy is seeking to disarm women on every level. Lisa Bevere explains how the Word of God is a sword that should be both studied and wielded. If there ever was a time for women to be armed, it’s now. (taken from the book cover) As I was reading Girls with Swords, I loved the author’s use of imagery of the sword and translating God’s word as the protection of women. The sword resembles the cross and the power Jesus gave us when he died on the cross for our sins so that we may live. We have the power to draw our sword by the words we choose to speak. As Christian women, we speak as ambassadors of faith, hope and love. Words are invisible but can also be harmful if misused. I highly recommend this book for all women to fully understand the power we are given with the word of God. Your prayers to our Heavenly Father can direct your path so that your word will create an environment that encourages others to flourish. Helen Davison sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
What if you discovered you have been entrusted with an invisible, invincible, and incorruptible weapon? Would you use it? If there ever was a time for women to be armed, its now.Yet the Word of God is a sword we often are more comfortable studying than wielding. Its time for women to take up their swords and use them to connect heaven to earth. Worldwide, women are the targets of prejudice, sex trafficking, abuse, and even gendercide. Lisa Bevere says that these attacks say more about who women might be in the future than who they have been in the past. In Girls with Swords she explains a spiritual enemy is seeking to disarm women on every level. Its time for women to become the heroes God created them to be and stand courageous, discerning, forgiving, and wise. Creatively forging the imagery of swords, the Word of God, and the Cross, Girls with Swords will teach you: How to speak the language of heaven on earth What it means to intercede What it means to carry your cross What it means to be discerning How to disarm the enemy Why women are the enemys targetand why God needs them to be heroesIts time to take up your sword and be a hero.
