Nevertheless, this series will certainly entertain tween and teen girls. It uses Jane Austen's books as an inspiration for the modern teen stories, and might even get some teens interested in reading the novels that inspired this series.
Writing was light and fluid, instead of overly florid and pretentious, using a lot of brand references that might make some teens roll their eyes (just like they do when their parents try to use latest slang). I was pleasantly surprised to find an Austen inspired book that didn't try too hard to be like the original Austen. It's also a quick read, which makes it a plus and doesn't drag the plot. However, the ending felt a little rushed.
Still, I recommend this to any teen looking for light and fun read. ( )
