The soothing illustrations perfectly balance the well-chosen text of poems in this book. Pippa and her Wellies, act as guide as we join her on a poetic journey through the countryside. The detail begs for a slow interaction with slightly older children. Maybe a poem a day after lunch? ( ) This is a beautiful book to be explored over many sittings. As the story meanders through valleys, streams, and farmlands, the authors sprinkle nature inspired poems to complement the journey. The book chronicles the wanderings of an inquisitive little girl, Pippa, throughout her day as she explores the countryside. The illustrations are creative, unique, and thought provoking. The cursive text is written in a flowing form documenting her adventures. I like that the authors crossed out words to make it look like an authentic journal. The little girl really reminds me of David Almond's, Mina, because the story is told through the voice of an imaginative, inquisitive child. I love all her musings: "One thing's for sure, I won't do discus-throwing with cowpats ever again." sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Pippa loves staying with her Aunty Peggy. She loves going for walks, whether it is sunny or cold -- long, wandering walks where her wellies take her. Follow Pippa into the beautiful countryside as her day unfolds, and the wildlife, animals, and people she encounters are complemented by relevant poems from some of our greatest authors.
