Sketchnotes refers to a highly visual-spatial approach to note-taking, that may stimulate visual thinking as well as facilitate communication. This practical handbook provides much useful information for the aspiring sketchnoter as well as inspiration for all of us who are curious about visual thinking and visual expression. This was a good way to get some ideas on how to expand my bujo repertoire. It was a fast read because it was entirely sketchnotes, so that was cool. I also learned that this type of note taking works best for conferences and big idea discussions. For the day to day minutia of meetings at work, this probably won’t work as well. After stating early on in the book that your notes don't have to look good, the author then goes on to spend the greater part of the the book talking about how to make your notes look good. There is a lot of sound psychological theory behind visual note taking; it is unfortunate that the author is completely oblivious to all of it, since his book has had considerable reach. A simple, quick read; very encouraging to beginning illustrators and those wishing to incorporate more illustration into their notes, for themselves or others. Nicely designed, except the two color print was tiresome. Super accessible, motivating. Thin on content and pretty much all of that borrowed without attribution. :-( I liked the examples from a lot of different illustrators, to show how much people's style varies and get inspiration from them. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
This gorgeous, fully illustrated handbook tells the story of sketchnotes--why and how you can use them to capture your thinking visually, remember key information more clearly, and share what you've captured with others. Author Mike Rohde shows you how to incorporate sketchnoting techniques into your note-taking process--regardless of your artistic abilities--to help you better process the information that you are hearing and seeing through drawing, and to actually have fun taking notes. The Sketchnote Handbook explains and illustrates practical sketchnote techniques for taking visual notes at your own pace as well as in real time during meetings and events. Rohde also addresses most people's fear of drawing by showing, step-by-step, how to quickly draw people, faces, type, and simple objects for effective and fast sketchnoting. The book looks like a peek into the author's private sketchnote journal, but it functions like a beginner's guide to sketchnoting with easy-to-follow instructions for drawing out your notes that will leave you itching to attend a meeting just so you can draw about it.
