I absolutely LOVED Wallingford and Abigail. They both just sparkled together. I know what it's like to have doubts about how much another person loves you, so I easily related to Abigail's character. I thought the ending was very sweet, and I am looking forward to reading more by Juliana Gray. (This is a review of the audio version read by Veida Dehmlow) A Duke Never Yields is the delightful last novel in the Affairs by Moonlight Series. Arthur Wallingford is a notorious rake who has no intention of ever settling down. He enjoys the catered life of a Duke and sees no reason for his plush lifestyle to ever change. His grandfather, however, has had quite enough of his wastrel ways and threatens to have him married off quickly to a bride of his grandfather’s choosing. To avoid this requirement he runs off to Italy with his uncle and brother for a year of solitude and learning far away from the temptations of women and drink. Miss Abigail Harewood has decided she will never marry. After seeing the disastrous marriages of her sister and her best friend she’s decided that life will not suite her at all. At the prime age of 24 she is quite on the shelf from the young misses coming into English society. Not to be deprived of all the pleasures of the opposite sex, however, she decides she will find herself a lover and what better place than the exotic land of Italy? A force one might call fate has mixed up the reservation plans of the Harewood sisters. It appears that both the 3 women and the Wallingford men have reserved the same castle. With Wallingford determined to stay far clear of women and Abigail equally determined to find herself an experienced lover, Juliana Gray delivers a delightful and comical romance. Abigail has a wonderful personality and the things she says makes it impossible not to laugh out loud at times. She manages to shock even the unshockable Wallingford! The romance is witty and sweat and it’s fun to see some of the scenes from the previous novels in this series retold from Wallingford’s perspective. The narration in this novel is well done. It has less of the fake Italian accents than the earlier books and I enjoyed it much better. Veida Dehmlow does a superb job as Abigail. She adds depth and character to the flighty witty heroine. Wallingford comes off as rather brisk and stern and somewhat older than his 27 years, but given his character that might be very fitting. Overall this was a pleasant novel to listen to and well done. It was a great wrap up to the series! sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Impatient with the strictures of polite British society, Miss Abigail Harewood has decided to live life on her own terms--and the first thing she requires is a lover. When the commanding Duke of Wallingford arrives on the doorstep of her leased holiday castle, she thinks she's found the perfect candidate: handsome, dashing, and experienced in the art of love. But tempting Wallingford into her bed proves more difficult than she imagined. Restless and dissatisfied with his debauched life in London, the formerly rakish duke is determined to spend a year chaste. But as Abigail tries her best to seduce him, Wallingford finds his resolve crumbling in the face of her irresistible charm...and her alluring secrets. The seduction scene turned the trope of the "virgin loves sex the first time" upside down. The hero rushes to the act and then when it's over the heroine yells at him and tells him how awful it was. Loved that bit. ( )
