Fascinating look at how the story of the Revolution was told at its very first telling. It prints copies of the newspapers reporting on the major battles and events -- while highlights and summaries help explain what we're reading. It demonstrates the difficulties of transmitting knowledge across the globe while also giving us first-hand accounts from battle. ( ) Fascinating history of the American Revolutionary War. The many illustrations of 18th century newspapers from both sides of the war are outstanding. This is a large format hardcover anthology. The book gives a realistic view of the war through insightful text that provides excellent commentary on the newspaper articles of many major events of the war and the prewar events as well. An explanation of newspaper publishing as it existed then and a section on "reading tips" make this a very useful teaching tool as well as a great history. Love it! Even better than I expected. Tons of reproduced newspaper pages, plus well written accompanying essays so you can enjoy the primary source or just the current historical analysis. Fascinating for everyone studying or working in news media, as well as history buffs. The production values are really high as well. This is a beautifully-made print book. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
