It is all about what baby animals do on their first day. Some are independent, some require their parents full attention. It identifies the animal and describes their first day of life. One thing I really loved about it, was in the back of the book was a list of all the animals that were in the book and more facts about them. I would use this book in a science lesson about mammals. It also has simple but cute illustrations that students could draw to tie together science and art. It is definitely a book for lower grade levels, as it does not have a ton of information in it. For upper grade levels Iwould be sure to reference the last page with all of the added facts about the animals. ( ) This picture book follows different animal species on their first day or during their first moments of life, revealing the diversity of survival adaptations found in the animal kingdom. This book would work well in a young classroom for a read-aloud session, and it tells fascinating stories with vivid pictures to hold the interest of young children. I really enjoyed this book, I think My First Day is great for young children and adults. The plot is great as each page depict animals from all around the world and experience their first day after birth. This book will teach children about different animals and how they are born with different expectations and resources then they were. A great introduction book if you want children to learn more about animals differentiate from one another. I liked reading "My First Day" for three reasons. First, I absolutely loved the concept of the book. The book starts off with saying how all humans are usually born in the same way. The rest of the book talks about what different animals are like on the first day they are born (some of the animals included were: Siberian tiger, wood suck, leatherback turtle, blue wildebeest, capybara, and etc). Second I enjoyed looking at the illustrations since each page talked about a different animal (besides the animals listed above, there were others, such as, a bat, darwin's frog, polar bear, ox, parent bug, and etc). Third, I enjoyed that while reading the book it was told in first person. When the different animals were talking about their first day, it was told from their point of view (On my first day, I trotted along with my mother. My herd was on the move, and I had to keep up). "My First Day" is a story about different animals sharing what they did on the day they were brought into the world. The big idea behind the text is that it shows how different animals adapt to entering the world. Each animal is different in their own way. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
