The women were not very attractive. End seemed to decapitation time. ( ) Brian Wood – Conan: Queen of the Black Coast (2013) – I really liked Brian Woods’ story adaptation in the 13th volume of Dark Horse Books’ Conan series. The barbarian commits plenty of ruthless thievery and violence. He also finds a beautiful and powerful woman, who shares his lust for love, theft and violence. In addition, the illustrations by Becky Cloonan and James Harren are stunningly and convey the beauty and savagery of the barbarian’s world. However, I am slightly bothered by the graphic depiction of Conan which, although muscular, seems a little too smooth and boyish compared to other volumes in this series. In addition, I was bothered by the maudlin self-pity that Conan displays in this volume. The Conan that I know might recognize the hopeless situation he is in, but he would nod to it and say “So be it, but I will send many of them to hell before I die!” This Conan reveals a soft, thoughtful, rather pathetic reaction to his plight. However, overall this Conan does pillage and kill with plenty of gusto and I did enjoy this graphic novel very much. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
