Thoroughly readable and fast paced adventure with dollops of creamy humor and engaging characters. Looks like it has all the ingredients for a long running series that won't jump the shark or write itself into stupid territory. ( ) This is a a cross between modern urban fantasy and straight fantasy. A ancient Druid has somehow managed to survive 2000 years, mostly by keeping his head down and hiding in America. His ally is The Morrigan and he has an Irish Wolfhound he can 'speak' with. His other pals are werewolves and a vampire almost as old as he is. Yes, this is another book with werewolves and vampires in current times, but they stay hidden, mostly. There are a lot of amusing elements in these books, and the personalities and action are excellent. I found the first book to be a fun read. Unfortunately, as the books go they get wilder and wilder and way out of control. Atticus takes on gods at will (the gods of every pantheon actually exist but vary widely in power) and numerous other enemies while his vampire and werewolf lawyers cover his butt. After a while, it just gets ridiculous. I loved the amount of detail the author put into his various mythical figures, but it just got away from him by book 3. Not only that, but I couldn't help but think of Donkey from Shrek every time his dog had something to say by book 2. Good, just not great stuff, but a fun read. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
