Boy Who Dreams by Cesar is an unusual book that might take concentration and no introductions. It is not one to quickly read or skim through. This book is meant to be much more than that. A sixteen year old boy finds himself not as ordinary as he once thought. His life begins to spiral as dreams haunt him day and night. Not just any dreams. Dreams of shadows, fear, destiny, and much more than he ever could imagine on his own. Over all, I felt the book started out relatively slow. As the pace began to crawl, another dream experience would appear and pull me right back in. There was no way for me to fall completely away. The storyline can be a little confusing at times. Like many stories, it clears up as you go and you get a better understanding of what is going on. The shift between dream world and 'reality' threw me off a few times, but I eventually could follow that easier. Be aware going into this book that is it written in the Queen's English. Several of the terms were very confusing to me at first and actually hindered my ability to read it. I was about a quarter of the way through when I felt comfortable with it. If you are one who reads quite a bit of British writings, this might not phase you. This book does discuss dreams and being spiritual. To me, several scenes were strange and a little uncomfortable, but I'm not familiar with many of the concepts he brought up in the book. The plot is very unusual and keeps you wanting to find out what is really going on. In that, I think Cesar did a great job. This book is labeled for young adults and I don't see anything to refute that. If you know a young adult who likes paranormal reads, this is one they might want to put on their wish list. *Disclosure of Material Connection: I am a member of The Virtual Book Tour Cafe' and a copy of this book was provided to me by the author. I felt the book could benefit from an edit. The reason for this is the use of Irish vernacular in the narrative e.g. words such as 'seen' are used instead of 'saw' and 'done' instead of 'did'. I think when read by a wider audience this may be an issue. However, as stated, an enjoyable read which you should try for yourselves. Cesar has definite qualities which will appeal to readers. ( )
