In my opinion, this is an excellent book. I liked this book for two reasons. First, the writing is engaging. The book even begins with a question to readers, "Have you ever thought about inventing something of your own?" When young readers read the first line, they will want to continue because the question engages readers. Second, the plot flows nicely and is well organized. The plot goes through Thomas Edison's inventions and how they improved over time. For example, Edison improved the telephone by making a more powerful transmitter. The big message of this book is that you're never too young to try to invent something. The book shares Thomas Edisons life, his inventions, and improvements. ( )

A really cute little novel that explains the importance of Thomas Edison and how his inventions still affect us today. Really good for the week of science fair or for a science class, or maybe for a segment of Thomas Edison.
