( ) We spent a long time reading and enjoying all the pictures and information in this story. This was a great eye opening book about a place that most of us can't even imagine visiting. We talked about why the scientists stayed a whole year and why the boat couldn't stay more than a week in the icy waters. O says she would never travel there! The weather is scary and the thought of being trapped in the icy cold for an entire year was not at all appealing. This story really gives you a sense of what it would be like to make this journey and what the weather conditions would be like. Also a great way to see how a journey can be a collage of written words, notes, photos, drawings and diagrams. I hope this will influence O's creativity with her journal entries at school. In fact this would be a great way for teachers to introduce journal writing. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
