I hear the books are really good, but I've never been able to get past the Swedish names and stuff. I was having a hard time keeping the two story lines separate and also not confusing the 2 blonde guys. Oh well, maybe I'll go ahead and read the second volume and see how it goes. ( ) Wow, I'm impressed. This graphic novel did a wonderful job of bringing the first book to life and, in truth, it read better than the actual book. It moved faster, was grittier, more compelling. I loved it. My only hesitation in recommending it is that a person who hasn't read the book might not understand what is going on in the story as well as a person who has read the book. It's quite brief. But it is a wonderful adaptation. I watched the Swedish movie and seen the actors who played the roles in the American version, but this graphic novel is much closer to how I pictured Mikael and the other characters when I originally read the books. It's not a new story, it's been done in what seems like every different way, but I thought that the writer and artists really captured the feel of the original book. Gritty and cold and angry and the waves of hate that bounced around Henrick's family. I also liked the tattoo in it's full glory on Lisabeth's back. Unfortunately some of the dialogue was a bit stilted (maybe it was that way in the novel too, who knows), and even though I really know the story, at points it did seem to jump forward here and there. And it's probably best that people have read the novel or seen one of the movies first. It's not exactly the most straightforward of stories. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
