~ 3 Rev It Up Stars ~

Rev It Up is book three in the Black Knight Inc. series by Julia Ann Walker. I have loved every book up until this one. It has left me feeling torn. We get some drama, life changing secrets, and danger all around.

I like the emotional upheaval all the characters have to work through to find their HEA, but this one felt way to easy. Yes, they both made mistakes, but I felt it takes more time to come to grips with everything. They did it too fast. I also love that every couple so far has known each other for some time, so the “insta-lust/love” seams more believable, because of that history. I also enjoy seeing authors work in previous couples and characters. It helps make it feel that much more real, interesting, and we get a deeper feeling for the relationship’s and friendship’s they have as a group. I also like how the author set’s us up for the next couple’s book, though in Rev It Up I found their story much more interesting then the actual couple of Jake and Michelle this book is about.

As for the main characters: I did like Jake “Snake” Sommers and understood why he had to leave, but Michelle Knight was just a whiny little twit. Jake stole the show for me. He knows he’s a little damaged and tortured, but he also knows what he wants. He’s a standup guy and these emotions came across.

As for the plot: Well it’s little guess at where the villains are concerned and I saw the other surprise secret coming. Yep, Michelle should have told Jake the truth and let him decided, instead of pushing her daddy issues onto the man she is “supposed” to love.

Rev It Up and it’s oh-so-sexy cover was entertaining. Even though I ended up torn on this one, the author did a fantastic job with the secondary storyline and future couples that I still want to see what happens next. If you enjoy romantic suspense, sexy biker/military men and women, then I recommend giving this series a try. I was surprised with how much I am enjoying it.

Another great book in the continuing saga of the men and women that make up the Black Knights.

At the end of In Rides Trouble we saw the return of Jake "the Snake" Sommers who came back for Michelle, who we also met in IRT and turns out is Frank(Boss)Knight sister.

Jake, Boss, Preacher and Rock were all Navy Seals together four years ago. Their last mission together ended with Preacher getting killed who was married to Michelle, and who Jake was still in love with but due to his messed up mind from an earlier mission where over two hundred Marines were killed he had pushed her away and into Preacher's arms. In Preacher's dying last breathe told Jake that she was pregnant.

Four years later Jake shows up at Black Knights headquarters with every intention of getting back the only woman he has ever loved. Problem is Michelle doesn't believe his declaration of love and only wants to protect her son.

When its found out a bounty has been put on all of there heads the group get in teams to find the guy that put it there. Much to Michelle's dismay this leaves Jake as her and her son's bodyguard and bullet catcher.

Rock is teamed up with Vanessa to stake out a hotel where they think the bad guy has been hiding out. Vanessa would like more with Rock but Mr Cajun lives a double life and knows his second job prevents him from even thinking about getting involved in a relationship no matter how attracted his is to Vanessa.

Now that Becky is a part of the team Frank allows her to do more it was funny at times to see these two working together and Frank having more of a sense of humor and showing his lovey dovey side which is funny for a man his size :)

It was interesting to see a man come in from the beginning of the book declaring his love for a woman and vowed he would win her back. There are a few bumps along the way and a big surprise. It was great seeing the team back in action and April 2013 cant get here soon enough for Rock and Vanessa's story. ( )

This one was the most romantic and funniest of the series so far. I still loving the action and the motorcycles and the background story. The way that the characters are developing into a big family is very interesting. ( )

Rev It Up, book 3 in the Black Knights Inc. series was a very enjoyable read. The chemistry between Jake and Shell was smokin'. It was nice to have the hero admit his feelings relatively early rather than the hero deny his feelings until the end. Of course this is because Jake and Shell had some major history. Most of the time books like these are so easily predictable, but I must admit that the author threw in 1 or 2 surprises I didn't see coming. Also, I was a little shocked at how emotional the story got towards the end once everything was laid out on the table between the two.

Next is Thrill Ride, Rock and Vanessa's story. I really love how the author intertwined some scenes of their growing chemistry in Rev It Up, setting the stage for book 4.

I think I am going to take a little break from the series (gotta catch up on a few other books) but I will be sure to let everyone know how the rest of the novels play out.

Jake Sommers has returned for one thing and one thing only; Michelle. When he had her, he played fast and loose with her feelings so she went and married another man. He left, even went as far as to join the military and get himself deployed to parts unknown, but one thing has never changed; he has never loved anyone other than Michelle. Now he has to convince her that he has changed and won’t ever hurt her again. But proving that may be harder than he imagined.

When Jake dismissed her, Michelle did the only thing she could and moved on with a man who adored her. When he was killed in action, she was left raising her child alone. Over the years she has begun to realise her priorities and Jake is not one of them. Letting him back into her life is the last thing that she wants to do. But how can she resist the man that she gave her heart to, even if she knows there is every possible that he will leave her again.

This book has a plot twist at about 20% that I wouldn’t like to know if I hadn't read it. It didn’t make me gasp (I suspected it) but it is big enough to warrant it being a spoiler...it also means this review is mega hard to write!

Michelle is a woman with a massive secret, but it’s one she has chosen to keep at all costs. She has had to live as a young widow and bring up her only child alone; neither of these tasks is easy but she has managed to get a routine going that works. Then in walks Jake, the man who made her feel and then dropped her like a used tissue. This time, he wanted back in her life and was willing to do anything to do it. When he discovers her secret, his resolve becomes a need and I loved that she didn’t allow him straight back in. She knew what was best, knew what was right for her child and so was determined to shelve her feelings and do the right thing. She was strong, determined and self reliant – very good heroine.

Jake had a good excuse for leaving when he did. He was pretty screwed up over things that happened to him, blamed himself for the death of Michelle’s husband, so wasn’t in the right frame of mind to offer her anything. Of course it would have helped if the dumb ass had communicated any of this! When he came back he was the kind of tortured Alpha that melted my heart. Yeah he had behaved like a dumbass, but he couldn’t be entirely blamed for the way things worked out; it was a joint dumbass decision.

I loved them together. I cannot say anything more without giving away the plot but it was amazing. It was a steamy, steamy book that had a plot which both warmed my heart and kept me gripped. The main couple were fabulous together and I willed them to have a HEA, especially after I found out what the secret was. There was angst, love, sex, betrayal, secrets and lies....the best in the series so far! ( )
