The middle ages were a time of trying to win land. The Knights would fight each other for control of the land and cities. The setting of this informative book is very important because without the setting we would not have an idea of where the knights fought or when they were fighting or why. I believe setting is very important and all pieces of literature because it helps the readers better understand the text. We as readers can try and put ourselves in that time period in the area. I also love at the end of the book it shows important dates that the knights were apart of. For instance, 1096-1100 the first crusade conquers Jerusalem. ( )

The book covers so much more than the the life of a knight, though the medieval knight is intrinsically connected to the world that created them.
