The Knights would fight each other for control of the land and cities. The setting of this informative book is very important because without the setting we would not have an idea of where the knights fought or when they were fighting or why. I believe setting is very important and all pieces of literature because it helps the readers better understand the text. We as readers can try and put ourselves in that time period in the area. I also love at the end of the book it shows important dates that the knights were apart of. For instance, 1096-1100 the first crusade conquers Jerusalem. Brightly colored illustrations and transparent overlays combined with informative text provide an in depth view of the medieval world. The book covers so much more than the the life of a knight, though the medieval knight is intrinsically connected to the world that created them. This is a wonderful resource for the student who wishes to have a greater understanding of what it was like to be a knight. The combination of historical fact and the overarching mythos of the chivalric knight that is spread across the western world make Medieval Knights a book not to miss as it is connected to the greater history of civilization. In Medeival times, the women made all of the armor for the men. Knights were the leaders and backbone of most western European armies. An importan battle tactic was known as the conrois. This was a close formation of knights, designed to charge at standing infantry or other calvary. This formation was susceptible to side and rear attacks. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
