This version of the classic Greek story, The Odyssey, contains beautiful illustrations and sidebars provide additional information for the reader. Several passages are too lengthy, however, such as the story about the Cyclops. More consistency throughout the book, such as each story being two pages long, might move things along. Knowing the story ahead of time was useful but children might find some of the retelling tedious. This book is about the end of the Trojan War when the Greek army was sailing back home. When they were sailing back home, they ran into a lot of troubles that kept them from reaching home. One time they ran into a Cyclops' lair, another time, when they were super close to home, because they have a bag of wind, the army opened it thinking it was treasure, instead it sent them all the way back. I like this particular version of the story because the pictures are full of action and historical detail that helps you understand the story. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

*Fun fact: I took a sneaky day off school and bumped into my principal anyhow. She never turned into the Charybdis though. ( )
