On par with the War of Art, Steve enlightens readers about the vast difference between those that 'try' aka amateur, and those that are professionals. Focus, regimen, acknowledging what we resist and countless other tools are shared. Whether a writer, teacher, sales exec or parent, the principle are universal much as the elements of resistance in War of Art. A great read from an amazing author. ( ) Quick read. Some inspiring stuff that hit home. didn't offer much more though than this post which sums it up http://the99percent.com/articles/7192/Are-You-Trapped-in-a-Shadow-Career-The-Art... There is some very good content in this book -- but I resented paying $10 for far less than an actual 148 pages worth of content. This reads like a long address to a class of creative graduates. It's wise. It's insightful. It holds up a mirror to some of the most self-destructive forces that impede development as mature creatives. But it is not a full book. The War of Art is about what is keeping us from fulfilling our life's calling; whether that's creating a work of art, starting a new enterprise, embarking on a life of service to others, or even undertaking a course of self-improvement. Turning Pro is how we beat that opponent. If you want to make something of your life I highly recommend this book. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
Turning Pro is the follow up work to Steven Pressfield's classic, The War of Art. What we get when we turn pro is we find our power. We find our will and our voice and we find our self-respect. We become who we always were but had, until then, been afraid to embrace and to live out. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
