When I was in elementary school I never had the chance to grow a school garden. I have read many books that talk about schools that have made school gardens and sometimes I wish that I would have had that opportunity. I think that children learn best when you have hands-on activities. Even visuals helped me learn as a child and creating things were always the best. I am a very creative person and I think that school gardens are great because they teach a child about the earth, plants and different vegetations. This was a wonderful book because it teaches children about all of those things and how to create a garden as well as how to cook different things from your garden. ( )

Full of poems and text, this book is an easy way to get children interested in planting their own school garden. Definite read for a science/nutrition class, and if possible, pair it with planting your own school garden. ( )
