The voice seemed a bit more like Richard Castle. And the Derrick Storm character seemed a bit more like what he would write. A fun read for Castle fans. ( ) Richard Castle’s Storm Season: A Derrick Storm Mystery, written by Brian Michael Bendis and Kelly Sue DeConnick with art by Emanuela Lupacchino and a cover by Dustin Weaver, works as a metatextual in-universe book for ABC’s mystery series, Castle, supposedly adapting the second Derrick Storm novel by the titular character. The story sees Derrick Storm working in his prosperous detective agency, though mourning the death of Clara Strike from the previous book. His current case begins to overlap with one the CIA tasked him involving a Congolese warlord, young activists, and refugees. Along the way, Storm begins to think that Strike might not have died on his previous adventure. The story is fun and a good, self-contained mystery using the graphic novel format. In the Introduction from “Richard Castle,” he describes his influence for writing spy stories as the James Bond series of films and even Jim Steranko’s Nick Fury comics. Dustin Weaver’s cover art recalls the Steranko run on Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., adding a further layer of metatextuality to this story. This will primarily appeal to fans of ABC’s Castle, but it’s well-crafted with a good narrative and dynamic art. I liked this one better than the first graphic novel. I appreciated the way the authors built on the Storm character and the events from the first book and added in some mystery. There's still all the witty dialogue and snarkiness from the first book and I could still feel the Castle/Fillion character bleeding into Derrick Storm. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
