( ) The heroine has always lived with the curse of her Druid power that compels her to return lost objects to their owners else she be crippled in pain but she never imagines that such an object would put her into the path of other Druid and the warriors who live to protect them. On the way to delivering a key to the McLeod castle, she gets into an accident. Lost and chased by vicious yellow monsters, she's saved from almost certain death by a man whose not quite a man. She awakens in a cave in the presence of the beauty yet tortured hero. Lost in many ways, the hero lives in constant battle with his God who is slowly eroding his sanity and self control. Thrust into the future, secluded from his fellow warrior because of his instability and mourning the loss of his twin, the hero is a shell of his former self. Until he meets the heroine. In her presence his God is controllable. He's able to press it down because he knows that she needs him to keep her safe. On the way to McLeod castle, the hero finds himself captivated by the Druid and feeling closer to her than any woman he's ever met. But he doubts himself. He sees himself as a monster and though he wants her and craves her with everything inside of him, he doubts his ability to be worthy of her. But she needs him and deep down he knows without a shadow of a doubt that he needs her more so. With her he knows peace. It's because of her that he returns to his friends, unwillingly and with great hesitate yet he knows that McLeod castle is the only place to keep her safe. Or so he thought. There's a darkness in the place he once called home and in his friends eyes he sees that they don't entirely trust him anymore and when the mole schemes to turn them against the hero, it's the heroine who must fight harder than ever before to save him from the world and from himself. I adored this heroine because she was a fantastic woman. Strong, able and with the will of iron. She never once doubted the hero from start to finish and even though the hero was tormented in his instability, the heroine stood proud in the defense of her man and that was something to admire greatly. I loved how quickly she adapted to the world she found herself in and how readily she abandoned the uselessness of her old life in the fight against the evil they faced. I also absolutely adored the hero. Tortured, yet selfless in his protection of his woman and his friends even when his loss of control puts strain on their faith in him. He thought of nothing else but the safety of those he loved and when he became convinced he himself was the greatest danger to them, he willingly locked himself away. The characters had mad chemistry and I felt the connection between them 100%. I also thought this book had a spark about it that had been lacking in the last few novels and I was stoked to feel excited about a Dark Warrior book again. Awesome addition to the series. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
