Most of the stories, while well enough written, didn’t really grab me. I did enjoy the parallels between the Mowgli stories and the Graveyard Book. I quite liked the stories of Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, the brave mongoose, and Little Toomai, the boy who saw the elephants dance, although they didn’t leave a strong impression. But I loved the story of The White Seal, I suppose because I did see it as having broader appeal – a nice allegorical tale for those of us who are passionate about any cause, and feel that the people around us are blind to the dangers of current societal trends ...
