One serious Dog has been left in charge of five rambunctious cats and hi-jinks ensue. A quick read with bright illustrations and expressions on Dog in particular. I wasn't as keen on the story as I might have been but it is still a cute story. There is a counting aspect to it, one to five being repeated often, but it feels secondary to what else is going on. I'm not sure if it's just the Scholastic edition which I have, but there are multiple scenes per page which make the book less ideal for a group storytime, but suited for one on one reading as there is lots of activity on each page. Each of the five cats has their own features as well, so they feel less generic. Details like that I like to see. Genre: Contemporary Realistic Fiction. Why? At first I almost put fantasy but then remembered the dog and cats never talk. Making this so that it could be true. Media: Computer Animations Uses: I would use this book as a fun book. The dog is worried he won't be a good boy when his owners get back because the cats are making a mess but then they end up cleaning it up (Would that make this a fantasy book after all? Because cats can't really clean up after themselves like they did?). In the end he is still a good boy. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
