( ) Another excellent entry in the series. I really like the direction Dane has taken the overall story arc. Hannah, Julian and Vincenz are all damaged in one way it another. Each was beautifully flawed. They filled up the dark places within each other and made a complete package. My heart broke for Hannah in the last book. Watching her heal in this novel was heartbreaking and wonderful. It has been too long since my last time with this series Phantom Corps and I had forgotten place names. The futuristic setting and storyline also took a while to come back to me. So very confusing at first. This is a mmf story. Vincenz Fardelle and Julian Marsters were already in a steamy relationship before they saved the scientist Hannah Black from inprisonment. As they both helped to nurse her mentally and physically back to health the men gradually included her into the relationship and later into their missions. Each character has big problems from the past to over come. Each has a missing part to their life. They soon discover the only posssible fullfillment is with all three in a life for future happiness. It was my personal hangups that detracted from the book for me. Others who enjoy mm reading will enjoy this book. In real life I have no problem with it at all, just reading about it does nothing for me. Not Dane's best. Her attempt at futuristic world-building seems to have distracted her from the touching and realistic romances I've come to expect from her, especially after her Brown siblings series. The relationship seemed abrupt and the world incoherent and little explained. Granted the sex scenes are still hot, but the book was still disappointing. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
Vincenz Fardelle, exiled son of the Supreme Leader of the Imperialist Universe, has spent much of the last ten years working to stop the threat his father poses. But he's not alone in his quest. Julian Marsters has lost his best friend and countless others in the war and has made vengeance his only goal. In each other, Julian and Vincenz find not only like minds, but kindred spirits. However unexpected their relationship, everything changes for Vincenz and Julian when Hannah Black comes into their lives. Having been captured and held in near total isolation by imperialist troops, their immediate response is to protect her. Emotionally shattered but resilient, Hannah rebuilds herself. Because of the warm safety she finds in the arms of Julian--and Vincenz--she becomes someone harder, stronger and bent on preventing the Imperialists from harming anyone else. For the two men, wrestling with their passionate feelings for Hannah is only the beginning. War is about to send all three into harm's way and an equally dangerous secret could tear them apart.
