The book is a very practical introduction to knitting with many simple projects: scarves, shawls, hats, place mats, pillows, etc. Some are shown in b & w photos, but there are many color photos as well. Line drawings of hands, needles and thread illustrate knitting techniques. As a southpaw I particularly appreciate the section on left-hand knitting. It covers all the skills in the right hand knitting section.
This was a great book when it was published. In the late 60's people were more accustomed to reading instructions than they are today. While it does have ample illustrations, many people today want something with less words and more pictures. ( )
