To be honest, most of the ménages are the same characters, just different names. One light male, one dark male, the hot chic is in trouble, men save her. But dog gone it, I always enjoy the books! I found this one better than the rest, and really liked the Caleb character. Although I did get pissed at our female lead-- a lot. 2012, July 17 This is Alexi, Caleb and Holly's story. I have fallen in love with these characters over several books, especially Caleb and Holly. Holly because her ex-husband is and was such an asshole slime ball. Caleb because he was so tortured and lonely. I wondered what their stories were and when I read what I happened to them both I was shocked and so glad they were able to find love and acceptance. Alexi's story was part of the plot of One to Keep. We also get to meet Holly's gay son. He is a riot and I am sure he is going to keep everyone hopping in Bliss. There is one other character that was introduced in this story that pulled at my heart and that is the US Marshall Michael McMahon. I think he really did love his partner and is now in need of someone to help him find true love and commitment. I love this series more with each book that I read. I wish that Ms. Oak could write faster so we could visit more often. I was glad that Logan finally has gone to get some help healing. I look forward to hearing more about him. 2014, August 15 This story opens on the reception of Stef and Jen's wedding. Alexi has returned after giving his testimony on a number of criminals in various mobs. Alexi has a plan and he is determined to have the type of relationship that he has dreamed about since that terrible night some many months ago. He just needs to convince and contrary doctor and lovely woman that he saved to take him on. Alexi is the glue that makes this threesome between Caleb Burke, Holly Lang and Alexi work. He understands Caleb and what he has gone through. Alexi even comes up with a solution to help Caleb sleep in a real bed after the hell he went through in Africa. Alexi is the dominant in the trio. I think that Caleb could be just as dominant once he is handling his PTSD a little better. Alexi is definitely the muscle and security for this group. I loved that he doesn't give up on what he wants even when the threats start getting to close for comfort. I think that Alexi is going to fit in just fine in Bliss. Caleb has gone through some really bad things and survived. He blames himself for the nurses and care givers that were killed when he was captured and held for ransom. Caleb has stumbled through life since Wolf Meyer rescued him. There is so much about Caleb that calls out to those that care about the wounded soles of the world. I admire his determination and will to survive. It is very nice to see that being with Holly and Alexi he begins to forgive himself and his brother. One other thing that I loved is all the things that Ms. Oak wrote while Caleb was thinking. Caleb is just as sarcastic when he is talking in his head as he is when he is talking to a person. Caleb also has a very active and dirty mind. Holly is still recovering from her divorce from a prominent politician. She has hidden herself away not really interested in the world around her. She enjoys her friends and like the little town of Bliss however she just doesn't know what to do about Caleb. She knows that he is attracted to her but he just won’t make a move toward her. Part of Holly’s problem is that her divorce beat up her confidence. As far as she is concerned she is way past her prime and feels that a couple of gorgeous men like Alexi and Caleb could possible come to love her. Holly is a caring and compassionate woman. She should have been a nurse or doctor. She is also a wonderful mother. Finally we have Nicky Lang, Holly’s son. Nicky has left his father and moved to Bliss to stay with his mother. Nicky is an offbeat, no filters seventeen year old that has come out of the closet. He blackmailed his Dad, which Dad is very proud of, so he would have enough money to go to college and find out who he is. One good thing is that Nicky is thrilled that his Mom has found two great guys to take care of her. He is in ecstasy with all the great looking men running around Bliss. I also want to say that Nicky is very polite and respectful for such an irreverent ball of energy. The scene between Max, Rye and Nicky is so funny. I hope that Ms. Oak writes a story for Michael McMahon soon. I feel so sad for what happened. He needs a happily ever after soon. This story is just as good as all the others that came before it. There is the assassin that is stalking Alexi, the corrupt Marshal and that the zany citizens in Bliss that foil the plans of both over and over. I would love it is a place like Bliss existed somewhere. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

HTML: Re-released in a second edition with new content. Holly Lang has a hard time trusting men. Eight years ago, her husband tossed her aside and took her son away from her. Finding the little town of Bliss has given her a second chance at life, new friends, and sense of belonging. Unfortunately, Bliss also seems to have filled her days and nights with dreams of two beautiful men. She can't stop thinking about the gentle but haunted Dr. Caleb Burke, and the exotic and dangerous Alexei Markov. Caleb Burke isn't your ordinary town doctor, but he's always dedicated himself to trying to be a good man. His journey to this quirky little town was not an easy one. Some of the stops along the way left him scarred in more ways than one. But when he first sees Holly, it's like someone threw open the blinds and let the sunlight into his life for the first time in years. Alexei Markov is nothing like Caleb Burke. Working as a hit man for the Russian mafia, he was forced to do unspeakable things. He suffered through all the moral compromises to fulfill one simple goal, killing the man who murdered his brother. When a mission led him to Bliss, he found something more precious than vengeance. A woman named Holly Lang. Throughout months of living in witness protection, testifying against his former employers, all he could think about was finding his way back to her. After returning to Bliss, Alexei and his strange new ally Caleb discover that they aren't the only ones interested in Holly. Someone else is stalking her and appears to want her dead. The only way to discover the identity of the killer is for all three to face up to the secrets of their past and work together to fight for everything they have found in Bliss. .No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

In the case of the Bliss books, it shows to me in the way that I feel like there is no doubt whatsoever that there will be a "happily ever after". Yes, I know, for the most part, that is assured with all of these books - many of them advertise it right in their blurbs! - but some of them make the characters work for it. That sense of tension is really missing with these, especially within the relationships that are developing later along the timeline. These characters all live in a town with several successful triads, so there is a model for it being possible. The internal dilemma that often causes the most tension in menage books is pretty much eliminated. That leaves external forces, in this series, usually someone trying to kill at least one of the main characters, as the only possible hindrance. And yes, guns are damaging and in a lot of ways unpredictable, so you can never be sure, but a) Bliss has proven that it can handle itself and b) we know there's gonna be a happy ending, so the tension is somewhat dispersed.
However, I still enjoy reading these, because the comic situations that Lexi creates are hilarious and unique and the sex scenes are still smoking hot!
I'm still struggling with trying to find some "scientific" way to assign stars. I don't have one, I'm winging it. So I vascillated between 3 and 4 stars for this one and in the end, I went with 4. Ask me tomorrow, and I might say 3.
