This book is a great book as it talks about a ladybugs characteristics, life cycle, and their habitat. I enjoy this book as it gets into detail about ladybugs to help children know where they live, how they eat, and how they grow. This book is great for ages 4-8 years old. ( )

So many delightful ladybug facts in this book! Some of the ones that stuck:

-Ladybugs are on every continent except Antarctica.
-There are about 465 different types of ladybug in North America alone, about about 5,000 kinds worldwide.
-There is a ladybug without spots, called a spotless ladybug!
-Ladybugs are sometimes called ladybirds ("They are not birds" -my 3yo), but they are beetles.

In addition to being really cute, ladybugs are also excellent for gardeners and farmers. (They will eat the aphids from your tomato plants. Hurray!)

Everything you've ever needed to know about ladybugs! This non-fiction informational book contains a plethora of researched and scientific facts about ladybugs for young readers. From how many types, to what they look like, their life cycle, their behaviors, and migration patterns. The vibrant illustrations are accompanied by various descriptive labels and captions. There are many diagrams throughout the book illustrating their physical characteristics, growth patterns, and activities. The text pattern is clear, descriptive, and easy to read. The back of the book has a section with some additional fun facts type information about ladybugs along with some websites for curious learners. Ladybugs in this book are viewed in a positive light that need to be preserved as part of the circle of life, helpful to crops and farmers. ( )

This is a book I would probably put into my classroom library because of the pictures and how it shows the parts of the ladybug, different kinds of ladybugs, etc. It is a good informational book that students could use for research or just to learn more about ladybugs!
