The Happy Bee By: Ian Beck Reviewed by: Gretchen Hall This book is a great book for young scientist. The Happy Bee introduces children to the science processing skill of prediction. Children are introduced to a new flower on each page. As the children read through this book they can see a pattern form. They can predict what will happen next to the bee and predict why the bee is so happy. This lesson could be integrated with art and literacy along with science. The children could make their own bee on a flower of their choice from the book. They will have to label the flower that they made for their bee. I feel this would be a great lesson for second graders.
