This book if I had to range it seriously belongs somewhere in the 4.0-4.3 range, very likely.

Like going from [b:If I Stay|4374400|If I Stay (If I Stay, #1)|Gayle Forman|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1347462970s/4374400.jpg|4422413] to [b:Where She Went|8492825|Where She Went (If I Stay, #2)|Gayle Forman|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1347810457s/8492825.jpg|10706553], the first book is dynamically ground breaking, chews me up and spits me out, refusing to let me ever put the book down for work, sleep, anything and the second book is good, still incredibly good, but just not as good as the fist. Which happened to this book as well.

I do love the engrossing focus for travel in here, and how much we learn as the story unravels. How much our main character doesn't get the both his friends and his mother, both just maybe in ways that vastly differ from how he expresses it and, even more importantly, the ways the knows to look for it being expressed.

I didn't feel like there was as great an epiphany in this one as book two, but it didn't feel like this book needed one either. It felt like Alysson was learning to love the world, while Willhelm was learning how to love being in one place/being home. I do like that both books are so much more about learning who you are and how to love yourself than revolving around the need to love someone else and/or have that person love you.

As a point of pride I totally predicted the "Kate" scene perfectly from Book 1.

I did feel a little gipped at the end though. Alyssons books was dividied into 1/3rd was that "one day," and 2/3rds was her journey to find him. Which should have made book two 2/3rds the journey from the hospital, to the 1/3rd that was their reunion. It felt oddly unbalanced to have left it right at the door and the kiss.

Just One Year es uno de los libros más dolorosamente perfectos que he leído. Como para no perder costumbre otra vez no tenía mucha idea sobre que iría esta segunda parte, pensé que era una continuación instantánea de Just One Day, pero no. Este segundo libro está narrado por Williem de Rutier.

Me encanta la escritura de Gayle, narrar un libro como chico puede ser un poco complicado (si eres una chica la que escribe), me topé con varios libros que lo han intentado y han fallado. Pero Gayle... Gayle fue descorazonadamente realista con el comportamiento de Williem.

Lugar Correcto. Tiempo Correcto. Esa es la premisa del libro. Es un interminable juego de gato y ratón. Son esos segundos de más, esas pequeñas decisiones. Ouch, es todo lo que puedo pensar. Un grandísimo ouch. ¿Han escuchado/leído/o les han dicho alguna vez la frase esa: "El hubiera no existe"? Con Just One Year lo entenderán perfectamente "Si ella se hubiera quedado... Si él hubiera sido más inteligente... Si hubieran..." *suspiro* ¿Entendieron el punto?

Gayle Forman nos trae una historia fantástica, una historia dividida en dos que se complementan y hacerse más doloroso. Nos trae una historia que se puede leer en desorden y no pierde sentido, al contrario, creo que si leyéramos Just One Year primero estaríamos llore y llore con Just One Day.

¿Estará destinado a ser? ¿Tendrán su final feliz? ¿En solo un día puedes enamorarte? Prepárate para que tu corazón sea lanzada infinitas millas lejos de ti.

Just One Day y Just One Year son de esos libros que al terminar das gracias al escritor: Gracias Gayle Forman. Muchas manchadas gracias.

Im ersten Buch „Nur ein Tag“ erzählt Allyson ihre Geschichte, hier wird der gleiche Zeitabschnitt von Willem erzählt. Man kann das Buch also wirklich nur lesen, wenn man „Nur ein Tag“ kennt. Allerdings schafft es die Autorin in diesem Buch nicht so gut, die Personen zu charakterisieren. Willem ist zwar ein süßer und interessanter Typ, dennoch ist seine Geschichte deutlich schlechter erzählt als die von Allyson im ersten Buch. Vieles in diesem Buch liest man eigentlich nur um die Parallelen und die Schlussszenen des ersten Buches wiederzufinden. Die Geschichte Willems, das Verhältnis zu seiner Mutter, seine Freunde, alles wird im wesentlichen anskizziert und nicht auserzählt.
Das trifft aber nicht auf die Liebesgeschichte zu Allyson zu. Ich habe auch das Bonuskapitel „Und noch eine Nacht“ im Internet gelesen - danach bleibt dann wirklich keine Frage mehr offen. Schade eigentlich, denn das erste Buch fand ich toll. ( )

Willem is one of my all-time favorite characters, contributing to the reason I downloaded this audiobook. I read the book awhile ago, but when I revisited it as an audiobook so many subtitles came out, making me like the story's fascinating premise (likewise for Gayle Forman's Just One Day) even more on the second time round. Very good narration by Daniel Thomas May, which greatly enhanced my enjoyment and the overall experience. ( )
