What a lovely, heartfelt book, filled with much inspiration and wisdom about successful aging. I am so delighted that I found this little gem, read in one sitting. ( ) Read everything you can by Mary Morrison. I wish I had known her when she was still alive. She passed away in 2003, at age 93. She published her last Pendle Hill Pamphlet (she wrote six) at age 92 [Gift of Days]. Morrison takes an upbeat and positive outlook on aging, as she herself is going through it. This book was written when she was 88, and she is quite frank when it comes to giving up, giving in, whining, or any other negative outlook on living. For living into our dying is what she advocates. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
A daring, yet gently written reflection on one of life's most important periods,Let Evening Comehas the sensitivity and humor that will appeal to readers of any age. Mary C. Morrison explores the changes that take place as one ages, the gradual movement away from the center of life--work, family, community--to the periphery. Without glossing over the negative and depressed feelings that this can cause, Morrison highlights the benefits of relaxation, pure enjoyment , and time for reflection that old age can bring. The author shows how finding gallantry, dignity, and a positive outlook amid the changes aging brings is possible and rewarding. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
