This is a very cute little story, and I wish it was longer. It felt like the first part of an awesome kid's book (it definitely had a kid feeling, despite some cussing). Lots of potential for some truly awesome world building, story telling, and adventuring inside storybook settings. ( )

Pleasant but undemanding tale. The story contains gaps and leaps that seem to make better sense if read as a script for visuals. The setup is good enough that I have no hesitation to read the second volume. ( )

Loved it...the premise is fantastic, much like Cornelia Funke's Inkheart. ( )

I was a little baffled in the beginning because it started out in Neverland, and then switched to classic middle school angst in present day. Then it got REALLY interesting! The imagination and spin on old favorites is riveting. Can't believe that this sat on my TBR pile for so long. Well, I've got some grandkids in mind who will love this as much as I do, and I hope to read the next one before they come to visit.
John Pirhalla gives a great performance as narrator and has just the right voice, too. ( )

My son is 8 years old, and we have been reading this as a bed time story over the last couple of weeks. I've never seen him more excited to go to bed. We finished it tonight and afterward, he asked if he could download the next in the series to my Kindle from his allowance.

The story revolves a bookish kid, Wes, who is often bullied by a classmate. During a field trip to the town library, he and his crush, Taylor, fall headfirst into some adventures due to the library's magical attributes. There's some feel good moments, some lessons learned, and mystery woven through the story. There were a couple parts in particular where my son got to giggling, which gave me the giggles, so I can say we enjoyed it thoroughly. However it is intended to be a series, as the ending is quite the cliffhanger.

We will definitely be downloading the second in the series! ( )
