This particular issue took me a long time to read, although I think it had more to do with the busy and hectic time of year than the content of the issue. As usual, the interviews were what interested me most, and although I've never had the opportunity to read any Dennis Cooper his interview really inspired me and gave me a lot to consider in my own writing. The poetry in this issue was particularly appealing to me, as I look back I see that I dog-eared the poetry of Sharon Olds, Brenda Shaughnessy and Jeff Dolven--I can't wait to go back and re-read all of them! And I particularly liked Terry Castle's portfolio of old photographs and the essay that accompanied them, entitled "Children, Anon." It may have taken awhile, but this issue was a pleasure to read.
