Very simple to read. It was an entertaining book and a fast read. Easy to understand and follow. Love Lizard and am glad that Elsie learned to open up! ( )

I love all of her books - but meeting Lizard was special. I could identify with her, despite not having grown up in such a world. Her self-doubts, yet amazing will to succeed, really made this story special. ( )

Loved it! Seriously loved it! The WitchLight trilogy by Debora Geary is a spin-off of her A Modern Witch series (see my review to the first novel here) and the first novel of this spin-off is just as entertaining as A Modern Witch was.
Witches on Parole is just like A Modern Witch while at the same time being totally different. The characters are the same, the well-known and beloved witches of Witch Central, with some additions, namely Lizard and Elsie, who now are in the center of attention. The two of them are so diffent and yet so similar in many aspects and both of them are somehow so caught up in their fears, that I just couldn’t help myself but identify and sympathize with them.
Once again Geary created characters that were so realistic, so true-to-life and just so fascinating with all their insecurities, flaws and fears that everybody knows of and especially with all the relationships that developed among and between them, that I fell in love with them instantly.
I loved this book and the different perspective on Witch Central it offered and especially the new characters and reading this novel left me wanting to read more about Lizard and Elsie and see how their journey continues. ( )

Another ebook picked up cheap on Amazon for 99 cents. I wanted a light and easy read and that's what I got. Two witches are sent to Jennie so that she can help them "find" themselves. Geary's book might be characterized as a sweet story with lots of likable characters and a hopeful ending. For me, it went a little too far in that direction and occasionally came very close to being preachy which I don't really enjoy in a novel. I don't think I'll be putting money down for another book in this series.

When you want to remember that there can be love, kindness, community, and family in this world, read a Debora Geary book. Yeah, I know its fiction, but to read these books is to believe. ( )
