"As a curious little chipmunk leaves his nest to greet the twilight, he gazes at the glittering sky above him. He can't help but also notice the sparkling dewdrops on a spider's web, the lights of the fireflies, and the shimmers of moonlight on the water. 'How I wonder what you are!' marvels the tiny creature, launching a dreamlike quest to reach for the stars."--Amazon.com.… (más)

Twinkle,Twinkle, Little Star is based on a popular nursery rhyme. While taking an adventure with a chipmunk to find the star from the song twinkle twinkle little star. You get beautiful illustrations along the chipmunks journey. It’s so much fun to read aloud and to focus on the touch warming art work. This book is great for kindergarten through 2nd grade. I truly enjoyed reading this book and appreciated all of the creativity in each page. ( )

Summary:
This is a great book of illustrations. This is poetry but has turned into a children's song too. This book is about all the life under this one star. The sea, the land, and the sky under one star that shines so bright.

Personal reaction:
This has been sung to my son for years at bedtime but I had no idea that it had so many parts. I really enjoy that this book has its own story. Really impressed my son too.

Classroom extensions:
1. Have children sing together.
2. Have each student make their own verse. ( )

Summary:

This book is about a little chipmunk who is fascinated about the star that is in the sky, and cannot seem to let what he is so fond of out of his sight, so his dream takes him on a great fun adventure. He is so fascinated about the twinkling that anything that is white or has some type of sparkle he pursues it. For instance he is mesmerized june bugs. His dream finally came to its height when at the end he was scooped up by a swan that took him up to the sky where the star twinkles. At the end of the book it was very obvious that he was asleep dreaming what his dreams was.

Personal Reaction: I remember when I was young I was fascinated by stars that I begged my mom to buy me the glow in the dark star to hang on my ceiling, that when I lie awake at night it seems as if I am in the sky.

Classroom Extension:

1. What are your dreams and how do you plan on pursuing them.

2. Using paint create a sky with your dreams in it.

Summary:
This story is about a curious little chipmunk that decides to go on an adventure. His curiosity leads him to sale the sky in a sail boat in a sailors suit. He treats the sky as if it was an ocean. His hat blows off his head and when he jumps out of the sky bound boat he falls into a flower in a pond to be mesmerized by the twinkling and glistening of the water. Until he is scooped up by a beautiful white swan/duck who begins to help him reestablish his spot in the sky flying to the moon. The last page ends up showing a sleeping chipmunk who perhaps dreamed this whole thing.

Personal reaction:
This was a wonderful story and colorful book. The author captured a wonderful story especially for bedtime. He takes us from a restful spot in our bed on a journey and drops us off onto our pillows.

Classroom extension:
1. Dreams- where can you go and journeys you have been on in your dreams. Pretend to sleep and create a fantastic dream of child's choice not having a wrong answer. Use you imagination.
2. Write a twinkle, twinkle little star story. Where would you travel and what animal would you be?
3. Investigate each page there is a representation of something that could be something else. Such as the dandelion represented the star and the sky represented the water and the swan represented the moon. ( )
