I picked it up because it was set in Maine, which is one of my favorite places. The mystery itself was well crafted, but it was spoiled by the annoying trope of the headstrong female haring off without notifying anyone and getting herself in a dangerous position and needing to be saved by the big strong man. Come on. That said, I’ll probably try the next in the series since sometimes the first one out of the gate is a tad rough. ( ) I listened to this one on audio. The story dragged and was pretty predictable. I don't think the narrator helped much. She over-enunciated way too much and it was distracting. MacInerney has better stories than this one but it wasn't horrible. I enjoyed her Dewberry Farm series more. Start there if you want to try her out. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

HTML: Trading in Texas heat for Maine's tangy salt air, Natalie Barnes risked it all to buy the Gray Whale Inn, a quaint bed and breakfast on Cranberry Island. She adores whipping up buttery muffins and other rich breakfast treats for her guests until Bernard Katz checks in. The overbearing land developer plans to build a resort next door where an endangered colony of black-chinned terns is nesting. Worried about the birds, the inevitable transformation of the sleepy fishing community, and her livelihood, Natalie takes a public stand against the project. But the town board sides with Katz. Just when it seems like things can't get any worse, Natalie finds Katz dead. Now the police and much of the town think she's guilty. Can Natalie track down the true killer before she's hauled off to jail...or becomes the next victim? Murder on the Rocks is an Agatha Award nominee. .No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
